New York Knicks Rumors: Carmelo Anthony To Demand A Trade Soon Says Walt Frazier

Are the New York Knicks facing another dilemma soon? Just when Phil Jackson is starting to make a good foundation for the team, rumor has it that the franchise star wants to win now.

New York Knicks announcer and Hall-of-Famer Walt Frazier had an interview with ESPN and he shared an interesting bit about Carmelo Anthony.

"I'm sure Melo wasn't happy. His future is now. You know, he's not getting younger," Frazier said. "This is going to be a pivotal season for him to see really how he fits into the Knick plans and how this is going to go from here. Will he ask out, you know what I mean, if he sees that this is not happening? Because right now the Knicks, [it's] going to be tough to make the playoffs. They are a few years away and Melo knows that his days are numbered, so stay tuned."

However, fans should not panic just yet as those words did not come from Carmelo Anthony himself. As far as their new acquisition goes, Aaron Afflalo said they are building good team chemistry even before the new season begins. (Via NY Post)

"We'll see how we jell together on the court," Afflalo said. "Obviously it's been awhile, but I can say in terms of our mentality, we're both hungry to win right now."

In fact, Carmelo insisted that the Knicks go after Afflalo during the off-season and that says a lot about Melo wanting to win as a Knick.

"I believe he had a lot to do with it," said Afflalo, who got a two-year, $16 million deal from the Knicks. "I know they value his opinion in the organization. ... He's a big part of me coming here. He spoke highly of me, and that's all you can ask for."
