Cleveland Cavaliers Rumors: Jamal Crawford Expresses Desire To Play For The Cavs

Will the Los Angeles Clippers give up their reigning 6th man Jamal Crawford to the defending Eastern Conference champs Cleveland Cavaliers?

A few weeks ago, rumors surfaced online that the 35 year-old guard is aspiring to play for another team next season and he prefers the Cleveland Cavaliers to be his new home.

"I know Jamal personally, and I know he would definitely like to be a part of the Cavaliers' organization," said Haynes to Chris Fedor of Sports Insider.  "Jamal is one guy off the top of my head that I know would be a fit, and I know that they'll be looking at him."

"They want to use that exception for a wing player."

Should the Cavaliers be able to acquire the bulk scorer, they may not re-sign shooting guard J.R. Smith as Crawford is known to provide more consistency and veteran playoff experience.

However, the Clippers looks like they have no plan of giving up Crawford. Head coach Doc Rivers believe that the shooting guard is to valuable for their campaign and even with Lance Stephenson on board, he will find a time for Crawford to keep his playing time via Melissa Rohlin of the Los Angeles Times.

"We like Jamal. Jamal does something that only several people do, Lou Williams, and a couple of more guys." Rivers said. "Our job is to always improve our team, but we also respect and love what Jamal has done. The rumors about that is even crazy, but it is what it is, there's nothing we can do about it."

For Crawford, it will be a win-win situation as both teams are on top of their respective conferences. The Clippers were able to bolster their roster big time this off-season. Regardless, Crawford can rest assured that he will see next season's post season again.
