DeMarcus Cousins Embarrasses His Critics; Proves Media Can Tarnish Reputation In A Click

Despite the countless ups and downs in his career, Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins remained focus on his goal as he now enjoys the benefit of being a franchise cornerstone, as well as a testament of how media can easily tarnish one's reputation.

The big man shared his sentiments to some reporters present during the opening of USA Basketball minicamp on how the media can make up news that can almost define a person's personality and integrity.

"People love negativity," Cousins said via Bleacher Report. "They feed off of that. They'd much rather see that than something positive happen."

But instead on focusing on that, Cousins shifted his focus on winning and taking Sacramento to the next level.

"But we're going to make things happen," he said. "We're going to make something positive happen."

In fact, he is proud that his team has been able to improve a lot and he is excited with their progress.

"We're growing each day," Cousins said. "We're getting better, so we're on the right path-and that's all that matters."

In fact, even his relationship with George Karl is now better than ever and he said they will look for ways for them to translate it to wins.

"Things are a lot better," he said. "We're on the right path. We're trying to understand each other better. That's the biggest thing. We're trying to make it work."

But then again, he shifts his attention to the media as they could easily fool people into thinking that a person is trouble.

"People that don't know think they do know," Cousins said, later adding, "I hate to say it, but they're gullible. That's the stuff they listen to. Hell, most of the time they don't even know what they're talking about."

One example is his alleged spat with head coach George Karl.

"There were some things we had to iron out, but at the same time, I wouldn't make it as big as it came out to be," Cousins said. "It was a lot of people who didn't know what the hell they were talking about. Me and him are on the same page. We're working on our relationship. We're getting better every day. And that's all that matters."

Nevertheless, kudos to DeMarcus Cousins for proving plenty of critics and doubters wrong, especially Clay Travis, who clearly does not know what he's talking about.
