Why Detroit Pistons Rookie Stanley Johnson Can Be This Year’s ROTY And A Future All-Star

The 2015 NBA draft class showed a lot of promise during the recently concluded summer league.

Karl-Anthony Towns gave a glimpse of his untapped potential that made him the first overall this pick, Jahlil Okafor proved the 76ers will be just fine without injured center Joel Embiid, Emmanuel Mudiay showcased his all-around skills to convince fans that he is indeed the next franchise cornerstone for the Nuggets.

However, one prospect that stood out the most was Detroit Pistons forward Stanley Johnson. Fans and analysts were left amazed with his all-around game as he can not only shoot from outside, but he can also bang with bigger bodies down low.

"Going into Summer League, I was sort of, 'Well, we'll wait and see in terms of his readiness right away,'" said Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy via NBA.com's Keith Langlois. "But coming out of Summer League, yeah, I have a pretty good confidence that certainly at some point in the year he's a guy who's going to be able to play significant minutes at significant times."

For fans who have yet to see Johnson perform during the summer league, here's his full highlights.

Impressive enough? For Johnson, however, this is just the beginning and he believes he can still make a lot of improvements in his game.

"I have a lot of learning to do in making those checks darker, bolder and getting better at a lot of different things, but I can be very versatile on the court," Johnson told Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press.

"Like I was preaching before the draft started, I can play one through four positions. I can do a lot of the things on the court."
