Chicago Bulls Forward Jimmy Butler Says Derrick Rose And Him Are In For The Long Haul

Good news for the Chicago Bulls fans as franchise cornerstone Jimmy Butler says he and Derrick Rose are totally jiving and they will be teammates for quite a long time.

In an interview with ESPN via CBS Sports, the reigning Most Improved Player of the year clarified the issues surrounding him and Derrick Rose that they are close to breaking-up after bowing out of the playoffs last season.

"I think we're fine," he said. "I mean, it's the offseason, so guys go their separate ways, but so far, so good. That's what I have on that. Like I said earlier, it's just stuff that comes up whenever we don't win. If we win, nobody's talking about it, everybody's celebrating. Since we lost the way that we did, you gotta blame it on something.

Then, the guard/forward was asked about the team's chemistry especially the dynamics between him and Rose.

"Yeah," Butler said. "I think we can, I think we will and I think we better because the way I look at it, I don't think either one of us is going anywhere anytime soon."

In fact, he even said that he considers Rose as his brother and someone who he respects a lot.

But it would be interesting to see if they can indeed work the same under Fred Hoiberg's new system. According to Pro Basketball Talk, the system will include plenty of ball-screens and off the ball action. This means Rose might have the touches more often than Butler, as well as forcing him to run around the court and look for good positions.

Can they do it? Will the Chicago Bulls be much better under Hoiberg's regime? Stay tuned.
