Dallas Mavericks Sign Javale McGee; What Can He Bring Into The Table At This Point Of His Career?

It's official, the Shaqtin' A Fool reigning MVP is taking his talents to the Dallas Mavericks.

Sorely lacking a big man when Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan decided to ditch them, Mark Cuban and his Dallas Mavericks are looking for all the help they can get in the center position.

Fortunately, they got Zaza Pachulia from the Milwaukee Bucks as well as sign free agent Samuel Dalembert. But what makes the Javale McGee signing is he is still young and he boasts plenty of upside that can be polished to a bonafide talent.

According to Bleacher Report, Javale McGee could develop to a Tyson Chandler type role for the Mavs, as the team already presents plenty of offensive options in Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons, and Wesley Matthews. He could do what he does best by swatting shots, getting plenty of rebounds, and from time to time, score on some put back dunks or lay-ups.

Fans might think that this is a risky move for the Dallas Mavericks. However, considering the options left in the market, McGee is the best they can get which makes this an excellent gamble.

According to SB Nation, McGee will sign a two-year minimum contract with a team option for the second year. This means should McGee fail to live up to the minimum requirement, the Mavs have the option to decline this option making him a free agent once again.

The center last played for the Philadelphia 76ers where he averaged 4.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks a game.

What do you think Mavs fans? Is the signing of Javale McGee a smart move on the part of Mark Kuban and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks? Sound off in the comment box below.
