New York Knicks Apparently Almost Landed LaMarcus Aldridge If Not For Kristaps Porzingis

The New York Knicks are now gearing up for the upcoming season and their newest draft pick, Kristaps Porzingis, will have plenty of eyes on him as he tries to prove critics wrong for labeling him as a bust.

In fact, the 7'3" Latvian is enjoying his time having a shoot-around with Carmelo Anthony and he said that he is beginning to get a grasp of the game.

"I was coming in here thinking it was a long week of doing random stuff, but it's actually fun," Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis said. "There's a lot you can learn. It's not the typical way you have fun, but for me, getting new information is really important."

As long as Porzingis continues to develop his game, the Knicks can expect a lot of positive news in the future. However, a recent revelation by San Antonio Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge might sting a bit for the Knicks.

According to the forward, he seriously considered playing for the Knicks but they want him to play center position to give way for Porzingis playing the four-position.

"They were saying they wanted me to be more of a center to let their guy develop and I just wasn't looking to be that," Aldridge said. "So I was looking to play power forward, and they weren't really interested."

"If they're going to tell me that I have to play center and I don't want to play center, then of course it's mutual after that. But before that I was excited to meet with them. I was interested," Aldridge said. "But they wanted to have their draft pick play and I get it."
