'Terminator Genisys' Sequel Cancelled? Jai Courtney Releases Official Statement!

The sequel for the recently concluded film, "Terminator Genisys" is being rumored to be on the verge of cancellation.

This is after reports surfaced that Genisys flopped at the box office. After negative reviews were made public, fans have been wondering whether or not it is still worth it to make another film under the franchise. Some are saying that the producers should just retire the story to prevent further damage to the previously high-rated franchise.

While it is only a rumor, a few sources have still been pushing for the "Terminator Genisys" sequel to continue despite the rumors about it not pushing through.

One of the sources is Movie Pilot, that released an article about why the franchise should not write off the sequel and the planned movie after that.

In other news, cast member Jai Courtney has released a previous statement about his character in the film, Kyle Reese.

In an interview with Screenrant, the actor teased about the sequel that is now rumored to not be pushing through. In his statement, it seems that his character, should the movie push through, will be portrayed as an antagonist, something that is very different from the previous film, since he played the good guy and Sarah Connor's guardian.

"I would normally kind of dance around that, but when you can be sort of unforgivingly nasty, it's fun," Courtney shared after being asked whether or not he'd rather be a good guy in films or otherwise.

"It's tougher to play a good guy," he added.

When asked about the sequel, the actor answered but seemed to shrug the idea off.

"I don't know," Jai said, which is taken by fans to be something that is indicative of the rumor that the "Terminator Genisys" sequel is not pushing through. "Look. That stuff's a long way away. I know there are people who know exactly where they want this to go from a narrative point of view."
