Houston Rockets News: James Harden Thrilled To Play With Ty Lawson; Says He’ll Fit In Perfectly

The Houston Rockets are one of the biggest winners in this year's off-season as even though they did not manage to lure LaMarcus Aldridge, they landed a borderline All-Star in Ty Lawson.

Despite the off-court issues surrounding Lawson, the Rockets invested on the point guard as they believe he will turn his life around. Also, they believe they have the right group of guys that could help Lawson restore his focus.

In fact, Rockets star James Harden told Jonathan Fiegen of Houston Chronicles that he can see the fire burning in Lawson and he is so excited to play with the veteran point guard as he will provide the much needed help they were missing in the point guard spot last season.

"Ty is definitely going to help us," Harden said via CBS Sports last Saturday. "He gives us that quickness, that speed, playmaking ability, something that we were missing, especially deep in the playoffs. We're going to welcome him with open arms. We're happy to have him."

"He's out in California right now working out," Harden said. "We're happy to have him. He's going to be a great addition to our team. I've been with him these last couple weeks. He's more focused than ever. He has a great opportunity with a really good team to showcase his talents and help us with that push that we need," he added.

Asked how Lawson will be utilized in the court, Harden said that his game complements their other point guard Pat Beverley which he believes could be a deadly combination.

"We can have Ty Lawson handle the basketball, play Pat (Beverley) off the ball," Harden said. "You can play them together. We have a lot of different lineups, a lot of options with this team. I've very excited to see how it all is going to pan out. Good things are going to happen."
