Vanessa Hudgens has revealed that she and her boyfriend Austin Butler, share the same battle with cancer, this is after she accepted her award for Breakthrough Performer at the Industry Dance Awards 2015 held in Los Angeles.

The event aims to give benefit to a charity called The Circle of Hope, which is focused on helping dancers who suffered from cancer, live a better life ahead of the disease.

According to Entertainment Tonight, during her acceptance speech, the "Highschool Musical" star shared some pretty personal details. She revealed that her boyfriend, Butler, has lost his mom to cancer just last year, and now, she, herself, is faced with the disease as her dad just got diagnosed with stage four cancer recently.

"Last year, my boyfriend, Austin, lost his mom, Lori, to cancer, and my dad has just been recently diagnosed with stage four cancer," the 26-year-old said. "Let me tell you, I hate cancer. I hate cancer with every cell of my being."

"This award, it means a lot to me but I dedicate it to my boyfriend's mom, Lori, my dad, and to all the families out there who are struggling with this, because it really takes a strong person and a strong family to be able to help those out who are going through this," Vanessa Hudgens added about her and boyfriend Austin Butler's battle with the disease, visibly choking to contain her tears.

As known to her followers, this is not the first time Hudgens hinted about her father's disease. Just last month, the actress posted a photo of her with her dad on her instagram page. She did not reveal it was cancer at that time, but received prayers from her fans nonetheless.

"My daddy and I ❤️❤️❤️ Please pray for his healing!!! The more prayers the better," Hudgens wrote as a caption to the photo back then.

Since her announcement, fans have been pouring their support to Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend Austin Butler. They said that the two should stick together to be each other's support system amid Vanessa's dad's battle with cancer.
