Samsung Galaxy S7 May Have The New Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Equipped, Shown On A Leaked Doc

Right after Samsung released a new breed of smartphones in the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Plus Edge, rumors now point out to a newer S-Series phone, the Samsung Galaxy S7, after talks about the new phone would include the newest chipset in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.

In a report by GSM Arena, reports of the S7 having the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 equipped spun out after a reported leaked document showcasing the specs of the upcoming releases of Samsung were revealed.

According to the report, a MSM8996 code revealed, which the source claimed to be the model number for the new chipset and "Jungfrau," which is said to be Samsung's codename for the S7.

"Jungfrau has so far been rumored to be the codename of the Galaxy S7," the site stated. "So this could mean that Samsung is currently starting to test the Snapdragon 820 inside its next flagship."

According to another report, the Snapdragon 820, the successor of the 810, seen on the S6, is expected to have an overall more powerful specs and major upgrades.

The new chipset is expected to be used in 2016.

"It will have a quad-core CPU, the Adreno 530 GPU, the MDM9x55 LTE Cat.10 modem, and will be made on a FinFET process - either Samsung's 14nm or TSMC's 16nm," the source stated.

Although Samsung hasn't revealed any details about the Galaxy S7 as of now, rumors state that it would carry the most advanced technology a phone has ever had up to date in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.
