With the recent update released by Google for its messaging app Hangouts for Android users, more benefits of using the application have been discovered.

In an article by Neuro Gadget, it was noted that it can even be the "best text messenger app" if one knows how to maximize it.

The tech site cited several advantages of installing the app in someone's Android gadget.

First notable makeover in this particular kind of messaging service is its capacity to send out text messages not just to one friend, but to a number of contacts at the same time.

Second is its ability to let someone use Google Hangouts in various Android devices. This means that even if your app is open in your mobile phone, you can still use it in your laptop or desktop computer simultaneously.

Third is the chance for any user to call local and international numbers for free just by connecting to a Wi-Fi network or a 3G connection.

For its fourth laudable update, the site disclosed that an Android user can even make video calls for free just by using the Google Hangouts app.

And apart from being user-friendly, the messaging service also boasts of HD quality video chat despite being a free service.

Meanwhile, CCM shared some tips on how to archive messages in Google Hangouts for Android.

By knowing one simple step, an Android user can already keep some messages private in order to hide them from others. Thus, making your confidential messages only available for your personal reading.

To do this, one has to open the application then tap and hold on the message or messages which he or she wants to transfer to the archive list.

After following this step, tap on the "Archive" button.

Should an Android user need (or want) to make the archived messages visible in the messages list of Google Hangouts once again, just go to the "Menu" and select "Archived." Viola, the hidden messages are now seen once again!
