'Soma' Horror Game Release Date Next Month, Will The Spine Chilling Sci-Fi Game Live Up To Expectations?

Horror game ‘Soma’ is almost done.

Horror games aren’t the most fun thing to play, but they are definitely something that adrenalin junkies and the strong at heart look for. The thrill and the suspense of trying to figure out the game’s objective makes the jumpscares and shock factor much more exciting.

A creepy teaser trailer of the upcoming horror game ‘Soma’ was released in October 2013. The video opens in a dingy operating room where a body is laid out on a table and hooked to a machine. After the player attaches what looks like a metal replica of half a skull, the body jolts like it is about to come to life but it dies instead.

The player then continues to explore the area and find an alien structure hidden behind a crumbling wall. If the suspense and the darkness isn’t enough to feed one’s fear, the discovery of a brain and the mysterious connection to the player

The ‘Soma’ horror game is a first-person science fiction survival indie game that is being developed by Frictional Games. The game takes places in an under water remote research facility called the PATHOS-2. Players have to survive the facility where the machinery begins to take on human characteristics and go rogue.

Frictional Games updated on their Facebook Page, “Next week will be the last one before the games goes into Content Lock. After this, no new non-trivial content can be added to the game. Instead, all efforts will solely focus on bug fixing, tweaking details and low-level optimization. Having this kind of lock is vital as things that might seem really simple additions could have ramifications that cause all sort of unforeseen consequences. In the final weeks leading up to release, you want to make sure that you only fix issues and not cause new ones.”

The game is almost done and there is the last stretch before the game makes its debut. The development of ‘Soma’ stretched five years so the developers don’t want to disappoint the anticipating gamers and are making sure the everything works the way it should, as reported by Playstation Lifestyle.

Pre-orders for the game are open and have a 10-percent discount on Steam.

‘Soma’ is scheduled for its release in Sept. 22, 2015 on PC and PS4.
