'Terminator Genisys' Sequel Pushing Through Amid Rumors? Success At China Boosts Film!

"Terminator Genisys" might just be getting its sequel after all.

This is amid the rumors that surfaced about the sequel not pushing through because of its underwhelming performance at the box office.

While this is true, its performance in other countries prove to be otherwise. In a report published by Variety, the film has apparently made $27.4 million in China, making it number four on the list of Hollywood movies with the biggest opening.

After the report surfaced, fans have been taking it as a sign that the sequel might just be pushing through after all. This is amid the reports that the follow-up film will not be continuing, as the Hollywood release proved to leave the producers in dismay.

The news about the cancellation of the "Terminator Genisys" came after negative reviews about the film surfaced as well. Numerous movie websites including Movie Pilot, released a article explaining why the producers and the picture company should not push through with the said film. Moreso, the article also stated that the film after that, which has been previously rumored to be slated, should also just not push through.

While the plans for the sequel is yet to be confirmed, lead actor Jai Courtney previously talked with Screenrant and teased about the possible portrayal of his character in the sequel, should the film indeed push through. He gave fans an idea that Kyle Reese might become an enemy in the next movie.

"I would normally kind of dance around that, but when you can be sort of unforgivingly nasty, it's fun," the actor shared after being asked about how Kyle Reese will be portrayed in the rumored second film.

"It's tougher to play a good guy," Courtney added.

As to whether he thinks the film will be made or not, the actor answered in what fans called a very safe answer.

"I don't know," the actor said. "Look. That stuff's a long way away. I know there are people who know exactly where they want this to go from a narrative point of view."

News about the "Terminator Genisys" sequel is still developing.
