Younger Sister Of Girls' Generation's Taeyeon Signs On As Trainee With SM Entertainment

Girls' Generation leader Taeyeon must be beaming with pride after her younger singer successfully passed the SM Entertainment auditions and became a trainee with the agency.

STC Academy announced that the 17-year-old Kim Hayeon passed a private audition with SM Entertainment.

"Although she is still a trainee, we will be supporting her to be met with good results and until the day we see her on TV," STC Academy said.

Online commenters congratulated Hayeon as well as her older sister Taeyeon. But some were surprised at the news because many did not know that Taeyeon had a younger sister.

"I didn't know that Taeyeon had a dongsaeng (younger sister), always thought she was the maknae (youngest child) in her family. She must think her dongsaeng's so cute because of the age gap and all," said one commenter.

Prior to the announcement, fans knew that Taeyeon had at least one sibling - an older brother who had gained attention recently after he was praised for his good looks.

On the July 14 episode of Cultwo ShowGirls' Generation member Yuri had said that Taeyeon's older brother was very handsome.

Taeyeon responded, "There is a one year difference between me and my brother. They usually say he's Taeyeon with short hair."

Taeyeon and the rest of Girls' Generation are currently promoting their new album Lion Heart which dropped on August 18 and 19.
