October Lumia 950 XL Release Date Version Features Windows 10 Mobile

New reports are suggesting that the Lumia 950 XL developed by Microsoft, also known as the "Cityman," will include Windows 10 mobile. The new operating system, which was released earlier this summer, is said to be included as part of the device's specs.

The highly-anticipated mobile device is also speculated to include a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 Octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. Although Microsoft has yet to announce an official release date, users are expecting to receive an update regarding the phone's launch in late October during a press conference.

The 950 and 950 XL versions are expected to be released simultaneously ahead of the 2015 holiday season. The phone launches are also expected to divert market attention away from rival company Apple releasing new devices, such as the iPhone 7.

Hardware and software specs for the Lumia 950 XL have also been released, revealing highly-speculated features for Microsoft's new device. Although "Cityman" specs are similar to its "Talkman" counterpart, known simply as the Lumia 950, they do include unique features that aren't available on the other version.

The Lumia 950XL includes a polycarbonate body that is available in matte white or black. It also includes a 5.7 inch (1440 x 2560) WQHD display and an infrared iris scanner compatible with Windows Hello.

Both the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL have been referred to as the 940 and 940 XL due to Microsoft's model sequence. However, it seems developers have decided to skip a model number and have instead opted for their current names.
