iPhone 6s Price To Remain The Same As Predecessors; American Carrier Offers Great Deal

Consumers were thrilled when Apple officially announced the specifications and price of the newly-introduced iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

But users will be more pleased to know that despite the release of the iPhone 6 upgrades, the prices of the handsets will remain the same in the US and UK, according to Tech Radar.

And with the upcoming release of the iPhone 7 next year, Apple fans shouldn't be worried that improvements in the iPhone 6s will be less impressive.

The smartphone will sell $649 in the US and £539 in the UK for the 16GB variant. In Australia, the unit will retail a bit higher at AU$1,079.

As smartphone users know, bigger storage capacity means a higher price. The iPhone 6S 64GB is priced at $749 in the US, £619 in the UK and AU$1,229 in Australia.

On the other hand, the iPhone 6S 128GB variant will sell at $849 (US), £699 (UK) and $1,379 (AUS), based on Apple's official announcement.

It is worth noting that US phone carriers Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile have done away with two-year contracts through its stores, as AT&T also wants to do the same.

Apple Stores, on the other hand, are taking the opposite track. For its part, AT&T will no longer be offering contracts, but Verizon and Sprint will continue to do so.

Under Apple's "iPhone Upgrade Program," which will only be available in the US, consumers will get a new 4.7-inch iPhone every year for $32.41 a month with no down payment. For an iPhone 6S Plus, users will pay $36.58 per month.

Among the best features of the "iPhone Upgrade Program" is that is already comes unlocked and includes an AppleCare+ protection.

But in order to avail of the program, subscribers need to turn in their phones in good working condition at the end of the 12 months contract. Users also have to be out of their AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile subscriptions.

In the meantime, T-Mobile's CEO John Legere is using the announcement of the iPhone 6s price as a strategy to drum up interest in his company, according to The Verge.

And now, the top company executive is offering a great deal on Apple's latest flagship phones.

In a recent blog post and online video, he announced that T-Mobile subscribers can get the iPhone 6S for only $20 a month through the carrier's "Jump on Demand" program, while the 6S plus can be availed for $24 a month.

T-Mobile's "Jump on Demand" is an 18-month leasing plan which provides customers the option to switch devices up to three different times a year

However, when considering the $164 pay-off prospective customers would pay the American mobile carrier at the end of their contract means that the actual selling price of the iPhone 6S is $524.
