Minnesota Timberwolves Star Andrew Wiggins Now A Bonafide Superstar?

The Minnesota Timberwolves reigning rookie of the year Andrew Wiggins is making a lot of noise in the 2015 FIBA America and it looks like he is ready to take the lead role for the Minnesota Timberwolves this upcoming season.

The Canadian forward is averaging 15.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists during Canada's run in the competition. He also put on such a show with sick dunks over people and he also showcased a much improved jump shot. Watch the videos below.

When he first entered the league, he was looked at as someone who is ultra-explosive but someone with an inconsistent motor and below-average shooting. As Mike Schmitz of DraftExpress wrote:

"To reach his full potential, NBA teams will want to see Wiggins become more aggressive with the way he approaches the game. He has somewhat of a laid-back demeanor on the floor, which can be seen in the way he finishes around the basket at times, his tendency for shying away from contact, and his propensity for settling for long jumpers."

"He looks reluctant at times to just explode down the lane and dunk on people, which his physical tools suggest he should be able to much more frequently than he does."

Now, he is also becoming a lockdown defender per NBA.com's David Aldridge.

"In one of the Wolves' first scrimmages, one of the wings was being physical with Wiggins as he guarded him, to see what Wiggins would do. It happened once. A second time. The third time, Wiggins started to hold his ground, showing the lockdown ability on defense that Minnesota hopes will become a regular part of his NBA game when he gets stronger."

Will Wiggins finally be the player to bring the T-Wolves to the next level? Stay tuned.
