‘Jumanji 2’ Movie Confirmed For 2016? Who Would Replace Robin Williams?

A follow up movie "Jumanji 2" is rumored to be in the works after Columbia Pictures president Douglas Belgrad confirmed that they have plans of remaking the film to the present time.

Belgrad was interviewed by Hollywood Reporter, wherein he claimed the plans to "reimagine" the movie as "Jumanji 2."

"Michael has created a bit of a mandate to do more in the family space," the president said. "It involves animation [which Belgrad doesn't oversee], hybrid and live action. Michael's impact on the studio is great; he helped reel in The Smurfs property. We're going to try and reimagine Jumanji and update it for the present."

Meanwhile, following the death of Robin Williams, who is the main character of the show, rumors now point out as to who could possibly play Allan Parrish in the sequel.

In a report by Huffington Post, however, stated that the need of replacing Williams could be a difficult task if "Jumanji 2" movie ever pushes through.

Meanwhile, the release date of the film has been confirmed by the same article wherein Sony Pictures reportedly released the movies lined up until 2019.

According to the list, the "Jumanji" sequel has been given a Dec. 25, 2016 date alongside other remakes such as "Ghostbusters," "Underworld," "Resident Evil" and "Bad Boys."

At the same time, fans went on an outrage after hearing that a reboot was about to be made.

According to a report from CNN and Movie Pilot, on the other hand, some fans of the actor and the movie itself went on an outrage, claiming how the film was good as it is and movie studios shouldn't do anything more about "Jumanji."

"I really don't want that Jumanji remake," fan Krista Jenkins said. "Probably because I feel it's too soon after Robin William's death and that's one of my favs."

"It's #official," Kevin Grant ranted. "#Hollywood has run out of ideas. They are remaking #Jumanji ... which is a damned shame and a travesty. #RobinWilliams"
