LA Clippers News: Doc Rivers Admits Possibility Of Losing Job; Reaffirms Mark Cuban’s Statement

The DeAndre Jordan saga is nowhere near over as LA Clippers coach Doc Rivers and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban exchanged tirades during these past few days.

It began again when Rivers said that he didn't like how Cuban approached the whole DeAndre Jordan situation after the Clippers were able to re-acquire the center's services. Cuban allegedly made a lot of noise against the center.

As a response, Cuban said that he really surprised that Doc said that but he is not surprised with the move to persuade Jordan back to the LA Clippers. He said that if Rivers fail to convince Jordan, it will also be the end of his professional career.

"I think the most interesting is it shows what someone will do when their entire future is vanishing in front of them," Cuban said via Fox Sports. "That's exactly what Doc did, and I give him credit for it. His professional life was over if he didn't get D.J. And so his back was against the wall and he did what he needed to do, so more power to him."

Now, in a recent statement, Doc Rivers did say that he might have just lost the faith of the team as well as his job.

"Losing him would've always gnawed at me," Rivers told Yahoo Sports. "But it wouldn't have stopped me. I would've said, 'F--- that, we're going to figure out a way to get this right.' But it also triggered something else for me."

"It might have been my front-office wake-up call. I was not a pleasant guy to me, or my staff, after I thought we lost him - and even after we got him back. We had a lot of 'come-to-Jesus' meetings."

The Dallas Mavericks and the LA Clippers will face off in the opening weekend of the NBA, Oct. 29, 2015.
