iPhone 6S Review: Upgrade Not Vital For iPhone 6 And iPhone 6 Plus Users If Only For The Camera

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users may not need to rush for an upgrade, a certain iPhone 6s review revealed.

With the announced release of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus units by Apple, many must be excited about getting a glimpse of how the flagship devices of the mobile giant would look like and how it is compared to its predecessors and its current competitors.

In his review, Jeffrey Van Camp of Digital Trends commented that "If you're still on an older Android phone or iPhone 5S, this is a great upgrade."

"If you already own an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, I don't think you should run out to buy the new models," he wrote in his review of the iPhone 6S.

He explained that while the camera improvement could be "fantastic," this is not yet a big reason to upgrade since the iPhone 6 camera was already great, and should tide you over for another year."

When it comes to the 3D Touch, which is a first to this batch of smartphones from Apple, he noted that "it will take at least six months before a majority of popular apps support this new feature." Therefore, you will not be able to maximize this feature as of the moment.

He, however, pointed out in his review that if someone is really itching to buy the iPhone 6S "to get noticed," he or she must go for the rose gold, which is the newly-introduced color by Apple.

"Just please, whatever you do, don't buy the $650 16GB model," he concluded. "In a few months, you'll thank yourself for spending an extra $100 and buying 64GB."

Meanwhile, Heather Kelly of CNN Money shared that the new device is a "lively, speedy upgrade" and a "solid upgrade" as well despite some setbacks like "some extra weight and no real battery improvement."

"But 3D Touch makes for a better experience across the board and general performance improvements are worth a leap from a 5S or older," he said. "Live Photos are just a cute bonus."

Considering these iPhone 6S reviews, what's your verdict?
