Houston Rockets News: Daryl Morey And Ty Lawson Excited For Future; Morale At All-Time High In Clutch City

The Houston Rockets are all geared up to make some noise once the season begins as not only did they retain the main core of the line-up, they also managed to acquire an All-Star talent in Ty Lawson.

In fact, GM Daryl Morey is so excited to see his boys compete and he honestly believes that the team is more than good enough to win it all next season.

Also, he sees them following the footsteps of the Golden State Warriors, which everyone knows resulted to a title last season.

"You go back a year and look at Golden State," Morey told the Houston Chronicle this weekend. "They pretty much brought their same group back, plus a point guard, Shaun Livingston. They weren't the favorites of a lot of people. They came together quickly. They had a great season. A lot of their improvement was just in everyone being together for another year."

Morey is known for shaking the roster up but he believes that what they have now is already solid and is hard to replace.

"This is the first time I feel like, without any changes, we're good enough to win it," the GM said.

Not only is the morale of Morey at its peak, but the excitement surrounding their new prized point guard is enough to spread positivity to the roster.

In fact, he is so impressed by head coach Kevin McHale and he believes that they will have a very good and healthy working relationship.

"Kevin McHale, he's a cool coach," Lawson said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "I sat down and had dinner with him, probably like a week ago.

"He just keeps everything real. He's played before, so he knows what we're going through. He makes everything straight forward, no grey areas. It was fun. We talked about everything, not just basketball, just life. He even had some stories when he used to play. It was a fun dinner."
