Motorola Droid Turbo 2 To Be Offered With 1-Time Design Swap? Metal Edges Added To Be 'Tougher'

Good news for all customers who are planning to get their own Motorola Droid Turbo 2 via Moto Maker!

The upcoming device, which is also known as the Moto X Force, will be offered by Motorola with a free one-time design swap or replacement within two years if bought through Moto Maker, Phandroid reported.

It was learned that the newest handset of the mobile giant is the first Droid to be sold via its online platform Moto Maker.

The site noted that consumers need not worry about having chosen "a bad color combo" or getting bored with "the one you originally picked out" when buying online since they would still have one chance to have it replaced.

However, they must never forget that the replacement must be made within the set period in order not to lose such privilege.

Although unsure of the back cover options available for the Motorola Droid Turbo 2, Phandroid revealed that the nylon fiber variant seems to be making a comeback.

Apart from the "shatterproof" 5.43-inch display, the device will also be donning metal edges "to help make it tougher."

"We're not entirely sure what that means as just about any phone these days has a metal border surrounding the display, although many - like the Moto X Pure Edition - has a tiny plastic border surrounding the display," Phandroid said.

The tech site further explained that the Motorola Droid Turbo 2's metal frame and POLED display "will ensure the display won't crack when dropped, thus, shatterproof."

Aside from Moto Maker, Verizon is also offering the new Moto X variant.

In the meantime, NDTV shared that the release date of the new handset was leaked and it was speculated that it will arrive in India considering that the original Droid Turbo was launched there.

Motorola is anticipated to announce their new product by Oct. 15, and consumers will finally get hold of their own Motorola Droid Turbo 2 after shipping starts on Oct. 29.
