'Devious Maids' Renewed For Season 4! Series Up For 10 Episodes

After all the speculations, the network finally renewed "Devious Maids" for season 4, which is going to have 10 new episodes.

Liz Gateley, Lifetime executive vice president for programming, told Variety that the series has continued good success on the ratings, which is a good reason for its renewal.

"It has found a loyal audience that is socially engaged with the show," she said. "The entire writing and production team worked hard to up the storytelling this year and the cast delivered great performances, so the show just gets better and better. I am very excited to renew it for another season."

According to the magazine, the numbers for "Devious Maids" were actually down for season 3 but it still continued to deliver for the network, "hitting season highs with its finale and finishing among the summer's top 15 scripted cable series."

"It averaged a 0.9 rating in adults 18-49 and about 2.3 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen's 'live plus-3' estimates," the article added.

Previously, showrunner Brian Tannen told The Hollywood Reporter that he's very optimistic that "Devious Maids" will be renewed for season 4 following a major cliffhanger last season, including the death of Michael and the blast that might or might not have killed off Sebastien and Adrian.

"This was what I call a kitchen-sink finale. We felt like the best strategy was to go big or go home," he said. "We really wanted it to be the most exciting possible episode so we just went for it."

When asked if "Devious Maids" will be renewed for season 4, the showrunner declared, "I am very optimistic."

He went on to add, " The show has been exciting and fun this year and I'm hopeful that Lifetime will give us a fourth season. It's not in my hands but I'm optimistic. We should have an answer about a potential season four by the end of September."
