George Clooney's Wife Amal Too Intelligent For 'Tomorrowland' Actor To Handle?

Amal Alamuddin is one of the top British barristers, as well as a human rights lawyer, and George Clooney might be forgiven for feeling inadequate compared to his wife, intelligence-wise.

And the "Tomorrowland" actor admitted as much in an interview with PageSix where he said, "Oftentimes I feel like an idiot talking to my own wife. It's never good."

Nevertheless, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin celebrated their first wedding anniversary this past Sunday, Sept. 27, and they marked the milestone on a quiet romantic dinner that his wife picked.

Claiming that he's a creature of habit, "I might want to just go down the street to the same sushi bar that I could eat four nights a week."

"And she's like, 'No that's not going to happen. Not for the anniversary we're not going to do that,'" he recounted.

In a previous interview with Stephen Colbert, as shared by Today, George Clooney refers to himself as the trophy husband in the relationship.

"What is it like to be the arm candy in a relationship? She must say, like, 'We're going to meet extremely intelligent people tonight - these are not show folk. Just be shiny and pretty,'" he joked.

"Shiny and pretty - that's mostly what I do."

The actor also took a jab at critics who dismissed his ability to stay on a relationship, much less married life, for a long time.

"They said it wouldn't last,'' George Clooney said of his marriage to Amal Alamuddin. "It's going really well."

He also shared what he learned on the first year of being married to the pretty English barrister.

"That's a good question," George Clooney told People. "But I can't officially tell you any of those things because that would be wrong, and she would be upset that I told anyone what I've learned."
