Denver Nuggets News: Kenneth Faried Talks About Emmanuel Mudiay And His Goals This Season

The Denver Nuggets are now moving on from the Ty Lawson era and are now giving the reigns to forward Kenneth Faried.

The Manimal is excited with what the team has accomplished in the off-season as they managed to acquire promising point guard Emmanuel Mudiay. Not only that, Faried is said to be trying to develop his perimeter game, as well as a 3-point shot.

However, his head coach Michael Malone said that he wants Faried to stick with what he is best at.

''I don't want him to forget who he is, the core of Kenneth Faried. That's a guy who plays harder than anybody else on the floor,'' said Malone via Yahoo Sports, who is also taking the helm from Brian Shaw. ''If he can do that for us, we'll reward him and give him touches where he can showcase his offensive development.''

Also, he is excited to see how Mudiay will fare as their floor general but he said that one thing is for sure, the point guard's passing skill is exceptional.

''I'm excited to see how he throws those lobs or pinpoints those passes when he goes through lane and drops them off, just like Ty used to do,'' said Faried, the 22nd overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. ''His court vision is amazing.''

Asked what his goal is this season, he said, ''I'm going to continue to be myself and continue to be the Manimal and try to lead this team by being the Manimal,'' said Faried, whose team is coming off a 30-52 season. ''I believe we have a chance to make the playoffs this year. ... I don't care what anybody has to stay about it.''
