Christina Aguilera Uses Coaching Break To Aid In Ecuador, Singer Reunites With Father's Roots!

Christina Aguilera is making the most of her coaching break from "The Voice." As part of her humanitarian trip for Yum! Brands' World Hunger Relief, the singer went to Ecuador to be of aid and to also reconnect with her family's roots.

As reported by People, the "Beautiful" singer felt so much connection to extend a helping hand to the country as her father came from Ecuador.

"My father was born in Ecuador and my grandfather was born in Quito, which is the city I stayed in," she told the Associated Press as cited by the source above. "And we would drive out in the fields which were hours away by car and into the farmland and sort of refugee areas where people are struggling."

Amid Christina Aguilera's coaching break, she even added that the trip to Ecuador was a dream come true not only as part of the Yum! Brands' World Hunger Relief but also personally. As she never really knew her dad growing up, the singer felt reconnecting with the Ecuadorians would be good.

"You know, there's a history there," she explained as quoted by Billboard. "But, you know, it is a part of my blood and a part of my heritage and a part of my people. And I would look at the faces and I would sort of ... sometimes feel like I saw a resemblance. I think it's important and I think it's good to know where you come from and sort of get to know your roots."

As reported by the Toronto Sun, the singer was pictured helping out in feeding some locals. She also spent some time with children that struggle and walk far just to get to school.

Aside from doing some humanitarian work, Christina Aguilera is also busy coaching aspiring singers via MasterClass. She will be back on "The Voice" by next season as confirmed by her manager.
