Caitlyn Jenner Cleared From Car Accident Charges; ‘I Am Cait’ Star Admits She Will Never Get Over Tragedy

Caitlyn Jenner was cleared from car accident manslaughter charges following a fatal February vehicular crash. The news was reported by NBC News after the "I Am Cait" star admitted that she will never get over the said tragedy.

Earlier this week, California prosecutors declined to charge the former Olympian turned transgender reality star due to insufficient evidence.

The decision came after an extensive investigation was made on Caitlyn Jenner's involvement in the car accident. The 65-year-old was initially accused of speeding her SUV on Malibu's Pacific Coast Highway. 69-year-old Kim Howe, who was driving the Lexus that Caitlyn Jenner rear-ended, died in the crash.

However, Caitlyn Jenner's camp was able to prove that she was not driving recklessly at the time of the tragedy. The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" patriarch's acquittal was also influenced by how she did not flee the scene of the crash, drove with the flow of traffic and was not using a cellphone while behind the wheel.

"We believed from the start that a thorough and objective investigation would clear Caitlyn of any criminal wrongdoing," said Caitlyn Jenner's lawyer, Blair Berk.

"We are heartened the district attorney has agreed that even a misdemeanor charge would be inappropriate. A traffic accident, however devastating and heartbreaking when a life is lost, is not necessarily a criminal matter."

According to a report from E! Online, Caitlyn Jenner talked about the car accident with Today show's Matt Lauer. During the interview, the controversial TV personality admitted that she will carry the ordeal forever.

"A tragedy like this, you'll never get over it. You just learn to live with it the best you possibly can," she said.

"I was under the speed limit; I was going 46 in a 50. My air bag didn't even go off."

"I remember it very little. I remember it happening and that's about it," Caitlyn Jenner recalled.
