‘Homeland’ Season 5 Star Claire Danes Talks Billy Crudup Ahead Of Ex-Girlfriend’s Book Release

Claire Danes has been busy with interviews after the Showtime series "Homeland" premiered its season 5. Claire Danes even took us down memory lane, opening up about her scandalous relationship with her "Stage Beauty" co-star Billy Crudup 11 years ago, which made him leave his girlfriend of eight years at the time, Mary-Louise Parker, when she was seven months pregnant.

According to the Inquisitir, in 2003, Billy Crudup started a relationship with Claire Danes when they met on the set of "Stage Beauty," when he was 36 and Danes was 24.

"I was just in love with him," Danes told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show Monday about the 47-year-old actor. "And needed to explore that and I was 24... I didn't quite know what those consequences would be."

"That was a scary thing," she added about the public backlash. "That was really hard. I didn't know how to not do that."

"We're friendly -- we're friends," she added about her current relationship with Crudup.

The 36-year-old star of "Homeland" season 5 has been married to former "Hannibal" star Hugh Dancy since 2009 and they have a son together, born in 2013.

According to MSN.com, Claire Danes' opening up about the scandal with Billy crudup comes just a month before his ex-girlfriend, Mary-Louise Parker, is set to release her first book, "Dear Mr. You." The book is scheduled to hit the shelves on Nov. 1, and is made up of letters written to the most important men in her life. The book is likely to touch on her eight-year relationship with Crudup.

Mary-Louise Parker rarely spoke about the scandal.

"I've never commented on the situation and I won't because it's not fair to my son," said Parker in More magazine. "Who wins? No child can benefit in that situation. Your love for your child should eclipse any other feelings you have for another person.
