iPhone 6S Review: New Model Better Than Predecessor Performance-Wise; Scores 8/10

A recent review of the iPhone 6s revealed that this particular unit, which is among Apple's latest top-of-the-line mobile devices, is way better than its predecessor in terms of performance.

According to ZD Net, the new iPhone may look like a clone of its immediate predecessor, the iPhone 6, considering its screen size of 4.7 inches, but, its "new features go far beyond a simple speed-bump and should further consolidate Apple's dominance of the high-end smartphone market."

ZD Net's Cliff Joseph also noted in his iPhone 6s review that another improved feature of the new iPhone model is its durability. It can be recalled that Apple got lambasted before when some users observed that their smartphone was not sturdy enough to avoid bends. Thus, the "bendgate" issue made headlines.

"The screen remains the same, at 4.7 inches and 1,334 by 750 pixels (326ppi), but the iPhone 6s is 14g heavier -- rising from 129g to 143g -- and also grows a modest 0.2mm in both height and thickness," Joseph said.

"The handset is constructed from a tougher aluminium alloy (also available in a new pink-tinged 'rose gold'), while the glass screen is now claimed to be 'the strongest in the industry,'" he added in his iPhone 6S review.

Apple also claimed that theA9 processor in iPhone 6s is 70 percent faster than iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus' A8 chip. Its RAM has also had a makeover, from 1GB to 2GB "in order to capitalise on that improved performance."

Amid these improvements, it was learned that the 3D Technology was considered as the "big headline-grabber." Such feature allows a smooth way to switch between apps.

In conclusion, Joseph stated in his review that "the iPhone 6s is just what Apple needs to keep its millions of worldwide users clamouring for more."

Meanwhile, Wired gave iPhone 6s a score of eight out of 10 because of its new features.

However, Joe Brown pointed out that Siri "still sucks-or at least that's my experience."

"To me, Apple's voice recognition still lags even the first generation Moto X," he said in his own iPhone 6s review. "Saying the magic words 'Hey Siri' worked 29 out of 100 times for me while driving on the highway."
