Motorola Droid Turbo 2 To Boast Of GCF-Certified Specs? Release Date Set In October, Rumors Say

The upcoming Motorola Droid Turbo 2 does not only boast of remarkable specs since it also comes with a certification from the Global Certification Forum.

As defined in its website, GCF explained that it is "an independent certification scheme for mobile handsets, smartphones, tablets and any other wireless devices that are based on 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards."

Being a certifying body, whose worldwide membership already reached more than 70, it adopts and follows a "test once, use anywhere" philosophy, apart from the set of certification criteria which are aimed at ensuring "that a mobile device will work effectively on mobile networks anywhere in the world."

In a report by Phone Arena, it was speculated that the Motorola handset with the model number XT1585, which has already been certified by the GCF, is the same as the one that will be introduced as the Motorola Droid Turbo 2.

The model number, which was previously associated with Motorola Kinzie when subjected to the benchmark test in June, was observed to be carrying the same specs with the leaked information about the soon-to-be unveiled Motorola Droid Turbo 2.

Phone Arena also hinted that the Verizon branded version will be out within this month.

On the other hand, Gotta Be Mobile shared that in 2015, both Motorola and Verizon would want to offer a smartphone that is "truly unbreakable and shatterproof," which means that will it not break easily, particularly its screen, despite heavy use.

"Instead, it will handle wear and tear unlike most smartphones, pack a powerful punch and have battery big enough to last nearly two days," the site said.

In order to be "unbreakable" and "shatterproof," as stated in its rumored specs, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2's will have a "thicker but lightweight re-enforced metal frame around the entire display and device, one that will make it extremely hard to break, or even damage.
