Chris Brown was seemingly slammed by Karrueche Tran, according to a report from BBC Newsbeat. The controversial ex-girlfriend of the "Loyal" singer opened up about moving on and made it seem like she is not at all open to a reconciliation.

The 27-year-old petite beauty dated the R&B superstar for five years. Being the girlfriend of Chris Brown allegedly subjected Karrueche Tran to endless bullying by both the singer's die-hard fans and numerous haters.

"I want to respond [to criticisms], but I've learned it's best to just let it go and not even put any energy towards that," she said.

"I feel like I shouldn't have to explain myself to anybody because this is my life and I can do whatever I want."

The feature was also reported by Mirror UK, wherein the aspiring model and actress stressed that she wants to move on from just being known as Chris Brown's former girlfriend.

However, Karrueche Tran admitted that it has been hard to not be associated to her famous ex-beau.

"I used to date him, and now as I am growing into myself and maturing and getting my career together, I am starting to have my own name without having to be associated," Karrueche Tran claimed.

"[But] now that I am trying to focus on my career and get my stuff together, I [still] have to clear up certain things. Negative stuff was being said and being brought up."

"A lot of people were like 'she's only famous because of Chris Brown,'" she exasperated.

The controversial couple split after the 26-year-old Grammy winner discovered that he fathered a child with a random music video vixen named Nia Guzman. Notorious for reconciling after highly publicized fights, some think that Chris Brown will still be accepted by Karrueche Tran even after he got someone else pregnant.

However, Karrueche Tran was quick to shut down the possibility of a reconciliation.

"We're not friends or anything like that at this point," she said.

"A lot of people think I am a weak individual because of past situations[...] It sucks, because I'm not a weak person."
