Miguel Cotto Vs. Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez Fight Update: Battle For Supremacy Happens On November 21st

One of the biggest showdowns this year is set to happen on Nov. 21st as Miguel Cotto and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez put their pride on the line for their respective countries.

This will not only be a battle between two prestigious boxers, but they will also represent the storied boxing rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico.

This is also a battle between experience vs. youth. Cotto is one of the most seasoned boxer there is while Alvarez, 25, is looking to be the next break-out star in the making.

Alvarez knows a great deal about that and he believes that defeating Cotto will put him right at the top as well as becoming a legend.

"Look, I think for a fight like you need to have extended negotiations," Canelo said via Opening Round. "They took a while because they had to take to make the two parties happy, to ensure that Cotto was happy and I was happy. It is best for both sides to be satisfied."

"So we made the fight and now I am very happy because, as I said, because it's an honor for me to fight with Miguel Angel Cotto, who has won everything, and he's going to be a legend in boxing. To become a legend, you have to beat a fighter like Miguel Angel Cotto. I am honored to fight someone like him."

Meanwhile, Cotto believes he has the weapon to give Alvarez a lesson and that is his trainer, Freddie Roach.

"Freddie is the person responsible for Miguel Cotto regaining his career," said Cotto via Opening Round. "My best weapon to defeat Alvarez is called Freddie Roach. He has brought me to fight with great quality again and at 34 years of age, I'm doing things that I never thought I could do."
