After dealing with the her and Chad Kroeger's divorce, Avril Lavigne is now facing death hoax as reports revealed that she killed herself in 2002.

The 32-year-old Canadian pop rock singer Avril Lavigne is just recovering from a heart break caused by her divorce with Chad Kroeger and now she is once again up in the headlines after a death hoax spread in the internet recently.

According to a report from the International Business Times, a reporter from Buzzfeed accidentally made an Avril Lavigne death hoax go viral recently.

Buzzfeed's Ryan Broderick tweeted about an old blog entitled Avril Esté Morta, revealing that the "Complicated" singer killed herself in 2002.

The blog post said that she was replaced by an actress who is now telling people the real story through the song "Slipped Away."

One fan of the "Hello Kitty" singer seemed to believe the death hoax as she tweeted, "I've just read a conspiracy theory that the real Avril Lavigne is dead and has been replaced by an actress. I'm convinced."

Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne has yet to air her side regarding the spread of the death hoax.

Aside from the rumors, Avril Lavigne is dealing with her divorce from Nickelback frontman Chad Kroger.

She recently took to Instagram to announce her separation from her husband of two years, Venture Capital Post said in a report.

However, it seems that all is not bad between the former couple as they remain friends and are in fact currently working on a new music.

The singer posed a photo of her ex-husband Chad Kroeger while they were inside a recording studio.

"YeeHaw! Writing with Chad today," she said in her post.

Avril Lavigne is also currently dealing with her recovery from Lyme disease which acquired late last year. The disease left the "Complicated" singer bed-ridden for several months, which pushed her to set aside her music career.
