Last chapter, just when Shunsui is getting the best of Lille Barro, the Sternritter unleashed his secret technique and opened his eyes three times. It looks like Shunsui is heavily damaged by his attack. Will he be able to bounce back?

According to Henry Ma of Kaleo.org, the battle is just starting with Shunsui about to show what it means to be the captain of the Gotei 13. If Lille Barro got something up his sleeve, fans can expect Shunsui to have one as well as he try to balance the playing field.

"Chapter 647 will likely continue with the fight between Lille Barro and Shunsui. With Shunsui getting shot up in the last panel, it's more than likely that it's just an illusion of him. After all, Kubo wouldn't kill off a main character such as Shunsui that quickly," Ma wrote.

But he also reported that it won't be easier for Shunsui as Barro is one of the strongest members of the Sternritters. Is it finally time to see Shunsui's Bankai?

"However, it does seem that Shunsui is in a bit of a pickle now that Lille Barro's true ability to negate damage is activated. Perhaps now will be a good time for Shunsui to unleash his 'Bankai,' which he has never shown once in the series. All we know about Shunsui's 'Bankai' is it can cover a wide area, but for what it actually does is still a complete mystery."
