Chris Brown is focusing on his daughter and is snubbing claims that he allegedly damaged the career of his ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran.

According to a report from Urban Islandz, the "Loyal" singer is just trying to ignore the aspiring model's recent interview, wherein he was blamed for Karrueche Tran's dwindling career opportunities.

"He is upset but at the same time he is trying to not let it get the better of him," a source said.

"He has his daughter Royalty to focus on and also his upcoming album so he has been busy in the studio putting in the finishing touches."

"It's time for Karrueche to move on and stop talking about Chris in every single interview that she does," the source added.

The controversial couple dated for five years until news about Chris Brown's daughter, one-year-old Royalty Brown, became public. The R&B star fathered the child with a music video vixen named Nia Guzman while he and Karrueche Tran were still together.

According to Latin Post, insiders close to Chris Brown also defended the 26-year-old Grammy winner. Even though their relationship ended badly after Chris Brown discovered his daughter with another woman, some say that Karrueche Tran should not be bitter.

"Let's be clear about it: there would be no Karrueche Tran if she didn't date Chris Brown," an insider pointed out.

"The world would not know who Karrueche Tran is if she didn't injected herself into Chris' life after the Rihanna incident. So for [her] to come around now and blame Breezy for her troubles in the business is disgusting."

"She should be thanking [Chris] for making her famous and stop bashing him for her misfortune," the insider added.

Karrueche Tran recently expressed her frustrations about always being associated with her ex-boyfriend. According to a report from BBC Newsbeat, the 27-year-old petite beauty is eager to make a name for herself.

"Now that I am trying to focus on my career and get my stuff together, I [still] have to clear up certain things," Karrueche Tran said.

"Negative stuff was being said and being brought up. A lot of people were like 'she's only famous because of Chris Brown.'"
