Gennady Golovkin Shares Thoughts On Duel With David Lemieux; Weighs In On Cotto Vs. Alvarez Fight

One of the main attractions of this year is the upcoming fight between Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux.

The two have been busy on their training but the Canadian boxer still finds time to taunt his opponent as he said recently that he is not a bit scared of his opponent.

With that said, TMZ managed to caught up with the Kazakh boxer Golovkin and he shared some of his thoughts regarding the upcoming fight. First, he shared what they are doing in training camp and how they are adjusting to his opponent.

"Training camp is a little bit new, a little bit different, not like any of the others," Golovkin said via Opening Round. "New ideas and new strategies and it's very interesting. We have different sparring partners because of his style."

"Lemieux is a champion and he feels like a champion and this is a unification fight. I think he is ready for a unification fight and he understands the situation. He is smarter now because of his experience in his recent fights."

Asked how he sees the upcoming fight, Golovkin said that it will definitely be a slugfest and someone will probably come out with a knockout victory.

"This is going to be like a street fight," Golovkin said. "He has a good style - almost like amateur style. I will beat any style - amateur style or brawl style. He will be a good test for me."

He also gave his thoughts on the upcoming Miguel Cotto vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez fight as the winner of that bout will face the winner of this fight as well.

"It doesn't matter and I don't think about it," Golovkin said of the afformentioned fight. "For me? Whoever is number one. I want all of the belts in the middleweight division and I will fight whoever is number one and it doesn't matter who it is. I don't like business. I like old school - who is number one?"
