'New Girl' Season 5 Spoilers And News: Zooey Deschanel, Series Exec Excited To Have Megan Fox On Show Amid Doubtful Fans

Megan Fox will appear in a recurring role in place of Zooey Deschanel for "New Girl" season 5, according to various spoilers and news.

However, fans have been cold about the reports as they think that the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" actress couldn't hold a candle to the "500 Days of Summer" star in the funny department.

The fan reactions to the Megan Fox casting for the "New Girl" were collected by Inquistr and some of the comments were spiteful.

Some even threatened to boycott the show.

One Twitter user with the handle Caffeine Queen wrote, "How are they doing to replace Zooey Deschanel with Megan fox for season 5 of new girl what kind of monstrosity is this?!"

"Disappointed is an understatement for how I feel about Megan Fox replacing Zooey on New Girl," McKenna added.

And Little Moon chimed in, "So they are replacing Zoey Deschanel w Megan Fox on New Girl's Season 5. I hope they rethink and immediately kill this idea."

"New Girl" boss Liz Meriwether confirmed all the spoilers and news as she expressed full confidence on Megan Fox's comedic abilities.

"It's insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it," she said.

"I've been a fan of her comedic skills since This Is 40, and I'm so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part - she's the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up."

Megan Fox might not also care what the fans may think about her casting because she got perhaps the biggest endorsement of all.

Zooey Deschanel, who is on maternity leave, took to
Twitter to comment on Megan Fox replacing her for the meantime. "The lovely and amazing @meganfox will be on #NewGirl season 5!" the first-time mom wrote.

Watch out for more "New Girl" season 5 spoilers and news which will be reported when they become available.
