‘Fashion Police’ Guest Host Margaret Cho Talks About Joan Rivers; Opens Up About Rape Trauma

"Fashion Police" guest host Margaret Cho talked about Joan Rivers after recently opening up about her trauma with rape.

According to a report from People, the raunchy comedienne shared that she considered that late comedy icon as her mentor. Before agreeing to become a "Fashion Police" guest host, Margaret Cho admitted that she always got shocked with the material of Joan Rivers, who was 81-years-old when she died last year.

"I saw her perform in many countries and many situations," she said.

"I was always shocked, because she was so filthy. It's really hard to shock me, and I was really shocked."

"She was really going for it in her late 60s and early 70s. She was so hardcore. I was always so impressed by her," Margaret Cho added.

Reports also came out about how ratings rose after Margaret Cho became a "Fashion Police" guest host.

According to a report from Radar Online, show execs are eager to give the Asian comedienne a permanent post in E! Network's hit fashion critique show.

"Everyone is really pushing for her to accept a full-time position," a source claimed.

"She is loved so much that they fear that losing her would really ruin things again."

The 46-year-old comedienne's success followed her recent revelation about her past experiences with rape and bullying.

A report from Daily Mail detailed how Margaret Cho was molested by a family friend when she was only five-years-old. The abuse lasted for more than seven years, which was followed by another rape incident by a different person when she was 14-years-old.

The comedy star revealed that her trauma increased after she was bullied by schoolmates who found out about what happened to her.

"Some kids at school found out and bullied me over it - they were animals," she recalled.

"It is very painful and disturbing when you realize the depth of apathy out there toward the suffering of victims."

Margaret Cho hopes that talking about these issues on her current "PsyCHO" comedy tour will help fellow victims of rape and abuse.

"People don't realize the power they have," she said. "They don't realize that if you've had this happen to you, you can help other people."

"You really are no longer a victim. You are a survivor," she added.
