Gennady Golovkin Vs. David Lemieux Is On; Analysts Favor Kazakh Boxer, Predict Knockout

At last, the time has come for Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux to face each other in a heated contest happening tomorrow.

The odds are in favor of the undefeated Golovkin and many anticipate Lemieux losing via knock-out. In fact, analysts over at Bad Left Hook all predicted that the Kazakh boxer will win via knock-out.

According to Scott Christ, the gap in talent between the two is simply too far with Golovkin taking it in six rounds.

"There's just too much in Golovkin's game for a fighter like Lemieux to handle. The only chance that the challenger (well, he's a fellow titleholder, but we all see him as the 'challenger' here) has is to hurt Golovkin early and finish him off," Christ said.

Meanwhile, Patrick Connor from Top Men Boxing Radio also predicts a Golovkin victory via stoppage.

"David Lemieux can dish it out just fine, but his durability has been an issue before. The puncher vs. puncher match up should be exciting, but any result outside of a Golovkin win by stoppage would be surprising. Golovkin by stoppage," Connor said.

"Lemieux is a good fighter, but he's not going to look like one compared to GGG. Golovkin TKO-6"

With that said, Golovkin looks like he is indeed on his way to stardom now that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is retired. But for Golovkin, this is all about the sport as he said that this fight will be great for boxing.

"This is a new story for boxing, very good for boxing," Golovkin said via Town Hall. "I remember a long time ago when boxing was very famous. Now there's not as much interest, but there could be."
