Kevin Durant Free Agency News: Reasons Why He Will Stay With Russell Westbrook And Serge Ibaka In OKC

The media is having a field day in terms of former MVP Kevin Durant's impending free agency in 2016.

Many believe the 27 year-old forward is leaving for his hometown team, the Washington Wizards or even the Los Angeles Lakers according to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith.

"Regardless of how senseless it may (sound), in one breath I'm hearing that if Kevin Durant doesn't stay in Oklahoma City, L.A. is his primary objective and landing spot as opposed to South Beach or even his home of Washington, D.C.," Smith said.

However, that was immediately debunked by Kevin Durant and he said that the reporter is a liar.

"I don't talk to Stephen A Smith at all," Durant said via Yahoo Sports. "Nobody in my family, my friends, they don't talk to Stephen A Smith. So he's lying."

"If you ask me a question, I'll talk about them. But like I said before, I have people who I talk to about everything and I know for a fact they didn't talk to him, so he's making up stories."

Durant also mentioned the only people he trusts is his manager and agent. If the word came from them, then it is true.

"Along with Matty Ice [Thunder PR man Matt Tumbleson], I've got two people that I trust with my life, my agent and my manager, who's my best friend as well. I trust them with my life. So if you hear sources or anything, don't believe it if it didn't come from them. I tell them everything," Durant said.

Meanwhile, analysts over at Bleacher Report said that Durant will stay with OKC after thinking that he has the perfect supporting cast in Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka compared to Washington's John Wall and Marcin Gortat,

They also mentioned that Durant is not the type who wants the spot light on a big market team, all that is important to Durant is to win and he will see that the only place that presents him the chance to win a championship is his current team.
