Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez Says Losing To Floyd Mayweather Jr. Made Him A Better Fighter; Odds In Favor Of Mexican

Now that the Gennady Golovkin versus David Lemieux saga is over, it is time to anticipate the Miguel Cotto versus Saul "Canelo" Alvarez fight happening next month.

The fight created a lot of buzz in the boxing world and experts have their own picks on who they think will win the match-up. Majority of them voted for Alvarez as his youth will simply be too much for Cotto to handle.

Miguel Rivera of BoxingScene.com says, "I think it will be an exciting fight, but I clearly think Canelo will win, and I even see him winning by knockout. I don't think Cotto can deal with [the] youth, strength and speed of Canelo."

Also, Boxing News Online pointed out the same advantages of Alvarez and the age gap will be in favor of Alvarez who is just 25 years old.

"At 25 years old, Alvarez is almost a decade younger than his adversary. Now entering his peak years in the sport, there could not be a better time for 'Canelo' to oppose Cotto," as stated in the website via Bleacher Report.

Moreover, the kid sounds so hungry as he said in a recent interview that his defeat against now retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. hurt his pride and made him a lot fiercer than before.

"[The loss] hurt my pride. I don't feel like it's a thorn in my side. Obviously I would have liked to face him again, but this rematch was requested and nothing happened. I believe that it's already put back in the past, but that fight really helped me to improve and move forward in my career. So I keep looking ahead."

The Miguel Cotto vs. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez fight is happening on Nov. 21.
