Detroit Pistons Trade Rumors: Team Pushing For Markieff Morris? Brandon Jennings Odd Man Out?

The Detroit Pistons are exploring their options on Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris as they are reportedly planning to reunite the twins.

It is worth noting that Markieff wanted out when he found out that his brother was shipped to Detroit without him being informed firsthand.

"One thing for sure, I am not going to be there," Morris said a month ago. "If you want to put that out there, you can put that out. I don't give a [freak]. I am not going to be there at all. That's just what it is."

But before the pre-season began, the forward said he would like to continue on playing for the Phoenix Suns.

"I want to be here," he said, per the Associated Press.

But should the opportunity arise where he can join his brother in Detroit, he might grab that chance. In a report by Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press, it looks like the Detroit Pistons are likely to move Brandon Jennings as well.

"I reserve the right to change my mind before the season opener. I will guess Brandon Jennings is traded. For who? No way even guessing that, although I gather the Pistons are monitoring the Markieff Morris situation in Phoenix. There is interest there."

He also gave a projection on how far Detroit will go this season and he believes they are not yet ready to contend in the playoffs.

"I think the Pistons will field the best team they've had during this playoff drought," Ellis said. "But with the Eastern Conference getting better, will that be enough to snap the longest streak of not making the playoffs in the conference? Right now, I'm leaning toward no. So I will guess 35, 36 wins - just missing the playoffs."
