What Causes iPhone 6S Battery Life Problems? Removing Facebook App The Answer?

Apple recently revealed and released the new breed of iPhones in the iPhone 6S and 6S plus and some users are still complaining about battery life problems, as it is still noticeable with the devices.

With the added feature of low power mode, could it be possible that the battery life problems of the iPhone 6S comes from the apps?

One major concern that most experts say regarding the battery life of the iPhone 6S comes from apps such as Facebook, which eats a lot of power even while the app is closed or the device is on rest.

In a report by The Guardian, product developer Matt Galligan said that the Facebook app could cause a lot of trouble with the power consumption of the phone.

He said that the said app has a problem with "sleeping properly when I hit the home button" and that the "problem may not be an easy fix for Facebook and the way their app is built."

"It [looks] like if you have location sharing enabled for Facebook, that's part of what it is doing in the background to kill your battery."

With that in mind, experts from Pixel Envy revealed that one of the best way to prevent the Facebook app from giving battery life problems on your iPhone 6S is by simply deleting it and potentially replace it with a third party app.

"Make no mistake: this is user-hostile," expert Nick Heer said in a report by BGR. "Facebook is actively creating channels to continue refreshing their app in the background when the user has explicitly stated that they do not want it to. Ironically, the best way to reduce the battery and data consumption of the Facebook app in the background is to switch Background App Refresh back on. Better still, remove the Facebook app from your phone, and perhaps replace it with [Facebook's U.S.-only] Paper."
