Atlanta Hawks Trade Rumors: Dennis Schroder Expresses Desire For Starting Position; Might Leave Sooner Or Later

Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder expressed his desire to be a starting point guard as soon as possible or else, he might look for another team that will give him the opportunity.

According to Dan Feldman of NBC Sports, Schroder have made up his mind that should he fail to become a starter in Atlanta, he will find a way to be one sooner or later.

"My goal is to start as point guard. If this doesn't happen, I will look for other opportunities," Schroder said. "The Hawks are a great team, the city is nice and everything is perfect now. Teague? He was an All-Star and he helped me a lot. I must be patient and work hard and eventually I'll have my opportunities."

Last season, Reggie Jackson is in the same position at Oklahoma City as he is playing behind perennial All-Star Russell Westbrook. Luckily, he got his chance when he was traded to the Detroit Pistons. Will Schroder walk the same path?

But he might want to reconsider as according to Cory McCartney of Fox Sports, the combination of him and Jeff Teague is a force to be reckoned with. If he prioritizes winning, perhaps, Atlanta is the only place to be for Schroder.

"Through Wednesday's win over the Magic, the guards have teamed for 188 minutes, and while they a net rating that's barely into the positives at 0.3 (plus-minus rating), that figure alone doesn't do them justice," McCartney wrote.

"Since the All-Star break they have combined to score in double figures in the same game eight times, punctuated by 41-point/14-assist performance on March 3 vs. the Rockets in which Teague had 25 points and Schroder supplied eight assists."

Should the Atlanta Hawks be worried with what Schroder just demanded? Stay tuned.
