New York Knicks News: Brighter Days Ahead For Carmelo Anthony And Company

Last year's disappointing season is behind the New York Knicks and franchise star Carmelo Anthony as he is looking forward to a more productive and fruitful season.

Anthony spoke with NY Post regarding his injury and the thing he looks forward most heading into this season.

"I'm healthy, so for me, I'm excited going into the regular season healthy,'' Anthony said last Thursday. "That was my number one thing - to be healthy going into the season. This was my last week of rehab. It feels good to go into the regular season healthy.''

He was also asked if the troubles of last season is bothering him and he said that all of those are water under bridge.

"Completely. The losing, the knee. That's all behind me," Anthony said. "I try not to think about it or reflect on it. It was all a blessing going through that. Never thought or imagined I'd go through something like that. I can say it made me a better person and player and put a lot of things in perspective."

"I use it as motivation. I know last year, that wasn't who we are as an organization and who we will be. A lot of people turned their backs on us. But we'll be all right.''

He also said that if fans believe they will be the same old Knicks that will win only 27 games, he laughed at the thought and said they are badly mistaken. Per Marc Berman of the New York Post:

"I think we will be better than people predict. If you're predicting 27 wins, I laugh at that. We use that as kind of motivation. But it's a good thing to be under the radar."
