NBA News: Commissioner Adam Silver Looking Closely At Reducing Chances Of Player Injury

The NBA is now looking at perhaps, their biggest concern last year, injuries.

It is worth noting that a significant number of NBA stars were out for majority of the season. To give some figures, 2014 NBA MVP Kevin Durant missed 55 games, New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony with 42, Houston Rockets center missed 41, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose missed 31 and LA Lakers guard Kobe Bryant missed 47.

Also, LeBron James, Blake Griffin and Russell Westbrook missed at least 12 games.

Moreover, the legitimacy of Golden State Warrior's championship was questioned by fans and analysts since the teams they faced in the playoffs missed their respective vital player in the rotation. New Orleans Pelicans missed Jrue Holiday, Memphis Grizzlies missed Mike Conley, the Houston Rockets missed Patrick Beverley, while the Cleveland Cavaliers were missing Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has already noticed this concern and plans to look at ways to lessen the chances of player injury.

''I think what we saw in this season and in the playoffs, especially, is there is no question that injuries had a big impact on the competition,'' NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said via Yahoo Sports. ''Not that that's anything new. One of the things we're looking at as a league is what can we do to keep players on the floor?''

''I don't want to see our teams just competing in terms of best practices when it comes to the health and welfare of the players,'' Silver said. ''Teams can learn from each other and can apply it to the league as a whole. As you heard (Warriors coach) Steve Kerr say, as great as it is to win, you want to win with both teams best players on the floor.''
