LA Lakers News: Nick Young On The Trading Block? Swaggy-P Might Be Shipped To Pelicans

The Los Angeles Lakers are all set to start the new season but their current roster looks like they need to make a few changes and balance out the roster.

The current line-up has overabundance of scorers in the guard positionand they might need to move one. The team has a loaded backcourt in Kobe Bryant, Lou Williams, Jordan Clarkson, and rookie D'Angelo Russell that will vie for minutes.

With that said, Grantland speculates that Swaggy P might be moved to the New Orleans Pelicans who is currently missing starting guard/forward Tyreke Evans due to injury.

"The league is so poor on wings who can shoot 3s and adequately defend both shooting guards and small forwards that I could see a team like New Orleans talking itself into Nick Young - even with Young's deal running three more seasons," the sports website wrote.

Should the deal come to fruition, it would be a great move from both sides per Yibada.

"Nick Young is definitely a player on the block what with the Lakers' new acquisitions D'Angelo Russell (2nd overall pick in the 2015 Draft) and Lou Williams, former Sixth Man of the Year," according to the website.

Meanwhile, Nick Young definitely feels the uncertainty surrounding him but instead of thinking about it too much, he decided to put a lot of work in the gym and get better instead this off-season.

"It was confusing. It was motivating," Young said in an interview with Los Angeles Daily News. "I didn't know if I would be here."

"Me and Byron are good, but I'm using it as motivation," Young said. "I'm just trying to do my part and stay alive. I'm trying to do everything he tells me to do. Anything I got to do to stay out there on the court."
