Chicago Bulls News: So Far So Good For Gasol-Mirotic Tandem; Noah Insisted To Be Sixth Man

The Chicago Bulls are up to a great start and that says a lot about the new coach Fred Hoiberg.

Also, other big factors are the Bulls roster are completely healthy and is no longer restricted in offense.

But, the biggest surprise is Joakim Noah being relegated to the bench while young forward Nikola Mirotic got the nod to start in his place. Does this mean Mirotic is outplaying Noah in practice? Apparently not as Fred Hoiberg spoke with Grant Land to address the recent changes in the rotation.

"Jo actually came to me and talked to me about that. He said, basically, 'I've always played well with Taj.' He said he thought Niko and Pau played very well together, so let's go that route," Hoiberg said. "It was actually Jo that started the whole conversation. He came to me. That says a lot about him."

"I had thought a lot about a lot of different lineups. I hadn't come to any type of conclusion. But it was great of Jo to just come and have that conversation."

Also, the head coach said that the Gasol-Mirotic line-up works so well because Gasol loves the pop while Mirotic likes the roll. Gibson and Noah, meanwhile, have good chemistry as well according to the head coach.

He also said what he likes best about Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic.

"The great thing about Pau - he has great length. Look at his numbers. He was high up in blocked shots last year. We'll see and monitor all that," Hoiberg said.

"When Niko has an open shot, I'd love him to shoot it. But he does get guys up in the air on that. If he can do that, and get into the paint, and shoot his little floater, I'm fine with that."
