Psy Will Always Be Psy, "Gangnam Style Gentleman"

The man who shook the globe with just one song had returned.

Last year, the first thing anybody did as soon as they woke up is checking the iTunes music chart. The man who was the cause of this syndrome is the global star Psy. His music video of the song "Gangnam Style" received over a million views within only 52 days on YouTube. After this unbelievable record, the number of views for Psy's "Gangnam Style" increased by a million views per every six days. Currently, the video was played over 1.5 BILLION times on YouTube, a record in all of YouTube history.

This global sensation began in July 2012 when "Gangnam Style" was officially released. It was an opportunity for Psy to enter the international music market. This music video was introduced to the music market in the United States in September of last year after being introduced at the MTV Video Music Awards. When the popularity of "Gangnam Style" began to increase dramatically, Psy officially began his promotional activities in the United States as well as in European nations in November. For the first time ever, a Korean artist appeared on the No.2 spot on the U.S. Billboard Top Music Chart. The song also became a hit in England and maintained its spot in the top of the music chart for a very long time.

Last November during the mNet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), flsh from the camera became blinding when Psy appeared. During the event, reporters from CNN and Reuters as well as many others stayed busy interviewing Psy. Psy's international fame could be felt.

During his interview at MAMA, Psy revealed that he has begun working on the next song to follow after "Gangnam Style".

Since then, it seemed like April would never come. However, Psy finally came back 9 months after the release of "Gangnam Style." Psy is the only person who can make Korean citizens anxious with excitement while checking the US Billboard Music Chart every morning as they see him listed among top world stars like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Ke$hia and more.

This spring, Psy brought us "Gentleman". The music video that received over a million views only within a few days features the comedians from the MBC TV show "Infinity Challenge" as well as the singer Gain from the Brown Eyed Girls. Only time will tell whether "Gentleman" will be loved as much as "Gangnam Style" or not. Will it top the international music charts just as "Gangnam Style" did last year? Will it set another record on YouTube?
